Why is dental college separated from medical college? How about dentistry and medicine? Both have the same basis of the field and basic courses. Then, why do we distinguish these two professions? We will go back to the past when dentistry and dental college emerged and explore how three elements (education, institution, and research) of the profession divided between dentistry and medicine. Based on history, we will discuss the effect of this division in the present and the future.
