These lectures are provided by two R.K. Cho Economics Prize winners, Prof. Valerie Ramey (12th winner, UC San Diego) and Prof. Yuriy Gorodnichenko (13th winner, UC Berkeley) in 2022.
Prof. Ramey presents her recent works on (1) the effects of global warming on economic growth and (2) the effects on time use on educational outcomes. Prof. Gorodnichenko provides lectures on how (1) the central bank can manage inflation expectations and (2) a new tool for monetary policy - forward guidance - can affect household expectations on inflation.
